Cattedrale di San Giovanni Battista
The Cattedrale di San Giovanni Battista is the Duomo of Cesena. Its construction was commissioned in 1378 by Galeotto I Malatesta, lord of the city. The exterior of the Duomo is notable for its sober appearance, without particular decorations or inscriptions, as is typical of the Romanesque tradition. Inside, visitors can admire large paintings, a fifteenth-century wooden crucifix and a pipe organ from 1962, built using original parts from a similar instrument dating from 1898.

- The Cattedrale di San Giovanni is the episcopal seat of the Diocese of Cesena-Sarsina and of the Museo Vescovile (Museo Diocesano e della Cattedrale di Cesena).
- The Duomo's bell tower was added later, built between 1443 and 1456.
- The Duomo's original location was different from its current one; it is thought to have stood in the area where Porta Montanara and the Sferisterio now stand.
- The church's current appearance is the result of two centuries of work aimed at giving the building a Gothic character.
