Valmarecchia

This is the valley traced by the river Marecchia. It lies almost entirely in Emilia-Romagna, though it also touches Tuscany (Badia Tedalda), the northern Marche and part of the territory of San Marino.

The Marecchia marks the border between northern and central Italy, and it also marks a change in the landscape, which turns from flat to hilly and then mountainous.

Towns such as Santarcangelo, San Leo, Verucchio and Pennabilli sit among green badlands, perched on rocky spurs above the houses and above the landscape running down to the Adriatic Sea.

In administrative terms the valley covers the Comunità Montana Valle del Marecchia and the Comunità Montana Alta Valmarecchia.

Accessibility statement

Romagna.net should be usable by anyone, with any tool: keyboard, screen reader, magnification, phone. This page says where we actually stand, without rounding up.

Conformance status

The site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Conformance is partial: the checks made so far cover the code and the colours, and they do not replace testing with people who rely on assistive technology. Known limits are listed below.

How this statement was prepared

Self-assessment by the people who build the site, last updated on 1 September 2026. This is not the statement that the Italian AgID guidelines require of public bodies, which Romagna.net is not: it is a commitment we make anyway.
