Basilica del Santo Marino
Built in 1825 on the remains of an ancient Romanesque parish church, it is the Republic's main church and houses the relics of Saint Marinus.
This is the church that houses the relics of the patron saint, the most important church in the Republic, where its most significant religious rites are celebrated. Before restoration in 1825 it was a Romanesque parish church; today it is notable for the broad flight of steps leading up to a Corinthian-style colonnade.
Inside are paintings and statues (including statues of the twelve Apostles) of great artistic value, such as the statue of San Marino positioned behind the high altar.
