Casa Artusi

Casa Artusi is a centre for gastronomic culture devoted to Italian home cooking. Linked to the figure of Pellegrino Artusi, it is a multi-purpose space: a museum, a library, a restaurant, a shop and a place for cookery lessons and conversations about food. Casa Artusi stands in the historic centre of Forlimpopoli, within the walls of a former convent, and champions the culture of home cooking by showcasing traditional tools and local ingredients.

Good to know

  • Pellegrino Artusi was a writer and gastronome who lived in Forlimpopoli in the first half of the 1800s. The son of merchants, he worked for a time in the grocery trade before leaving it to devote himself to cooking and to writing his recipe book (La Scienza in Cucina e l'Arte di Mangiar Bene).
  • Casa Artusi runs numerous cookery courses. Up-to-date course information is on the Casa Artusi website (www.casartusi.it).
  • The last week of June sees the Festa Artusiana, with food stalls, exhibitions, talks and events dedicated to gastronomy.

Conformance status

The site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Conformance is partial: the checks made so far cover the code and the colours, and they do not replace testing with people who rely on assistive technology. Known limits are listed below.
