Piazza Maggiore

The heart of social life in Mondaino, it is the setting for the Palio del Daino and is overlooked by the Rocca Malatestiana, home to the town hall. Because of its round shape, locals of this small hill village call it Piazza Padella (Frying Pan Square).

  • This square is famous as the setting for the Palio del Daino, a historical re-enactment with horseback games involving 300 costumed participants and riders from 4 districts. The event takes place on the weekend around 15 August and lasts 4 days.
