Museo Etnografico Valliano
The Museo Etnografico Valliano is housed in the rectory of the Santuario di Valliano. The layout of the museum is very simple: it shows aspects of rural life through its working spaces. Livestock farming, care of the house and vegetable garden, beekeeping and winemaking are the activities chosen to reconstruct the socio-economic structure of inland Rimini. Many unusual objects are on display, such as the honey extractor, the centrifuge used to extract honey.
Good to know
- The exhibition route is accompanied by a series of panels explaining rural life and the roles of family members in the pre-industrial period.
- The museum has an educational approach. It was, in fact, organised and put together by teachers from the secondary school in Montescudo.
- One section is dedicated to two jobs traditionally done by women: weaving and fabric printing.
- The ex-voto room, although part of the sanctuary, is considered part of the museum.
- Outside there is a lovely garden set out with tables and benches.
