Mateureka - Museo del Calcolo e dell'informatica
From the calculation methods of ancient civilisations to the mechanical calculator: in a historic palazzo in the town centre, the art of numbers and computing unfolds.
Mateureka is the museum of calculation and computing. Opened in 1991, it soon became a reference point for curious visitors and enthusiasts, but above all for students, who come here to get hands-on with the key concepts of arithmetic and geometry. It occupies the rooms of a four-storey palazzo in the centre of Pennabilli, and ranges from the calculation methods of ancient civilisations to the mechanical calculator. Particularly popular is the section devoted to computing, with early computers
(150 working examples) and the way this science has evolved over time, completely changing our lives.
