Museo di Arte Sacra

A collection of paintings, sacred objects, wooden sculptures and other finds discovered in the area around San Leo: an artistic journey between the 8th and the 18th century.

The Museo di Arte Sacra in San Leo is housed on the first floor of Palazzo Mediceo. The core of the works on display consists of paintings, wooden sculptures and sacred objects found in the area around San Leo, spanning a period that begins in the 8th century and ends in the 18th century. There are four rooms on display, plus the corridor housing the Lapidario, with sculpture fragments dating from the 8th to the 13th century.

Good to know

  • Next to the 4 rooms on display is a large room used as storage. The space can be visited, although it houses minor works or pieces awaiting restoration.
  • San Leo, like this museum, falls within the diocese of San Marino-Montefeltro.

Accessibility statement

Romagna.net should be usable by anyone, with any tool: keyboard, screen reader, magnification, phone. This page says where we actually stand, without rounding up.

Conformance status

The site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Conformance is partial: the checks made so far cover the code and the colours, and they do not replace testing with people who rely on assistive technology. Known limits are listed below.
