San Mauro Pascoli
San Mauro Pascoli is the birthplace of Giovanni Pascoli. The town was originally called San Mauro; "Pascoli" was added in 1932 in honour of the poet. Pascoli shapes much of what the small town has to offer culturally: it holds both his birthplace and the family mausoleum.
The town is made up of two hamlets, one of which is San Mauro Mare, a classic seaside resort on the Romagna coast, known for its calm.
