Museo del pane

The Museo del Pane in Maiolo is a scattered museum made up of ten ovens that produce bread following local tradition. Maiolo, in fact, has a very long history both in the production of local flours and in the methods of making and baking bread. The buildings and tools date back to the 1800s and represent a strong cultural feature of this community.

Good to know

  • Around 50 ovens are currently used in the production of the Pane di Maiolo, though not all are always in use.
  • The ovens were used by several families living within the same rural settlement, often belonging to the same extended family.
  • Every year, in June, Maiolo celebrates the Festa del Pane, during which the ovens are open to the public.

Conformance status

The site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Conformance is partial: the checks made so far cover the code and the colours, and they do not replace testing with people who rely on assistive technology. Known limits are listed below.

How this statement was prepared

Self-assessment by the people who build the site, last updated on 1 September 2026. This is not the statement that the Italian AgID guidelines require of public bodies, which Romagna.net is not: it is a commitment we make anyway.
